Dr. Afaq Mohamed
DMD, Managing Dentist
Dr. Afaq Mohamed, BDS, DMD, is the Managing Dentist at Affordable Dentures & Implants, York, PA. She is passionate about compassionate, personalized care, taking the time to understand each patient's goals and helping them feel confident in their treatment decisions. Her clinical focus is implant dentistry and full arch rehabilitation, including All-on-X and implant-supported overdentures, which she manages from diagnosis and treatment planning through surgical placement, immediate provisionals, and the final restoration.
Dr. Mohamed began her dental career internationally, earning her BDS in Gezira, Sudan, in 2007 and practicing for 10 years outside the United States. She went on to earn her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2024, where she was recognized on the Dean's List. Her extensive advanced training spans implant placement, implant overdentures and fixed restorations, denture conversions, cadaver surgical training, conscious sedation, and sinus lift and ridge augmentation, including hands-on All-on-X live patient surgery at ILAPEO in Brazil. She also uses PRF and digital and guided surgical workflows to support predictable, long-term results.
Since joining Affordable Dentures & Implants in 2024, Dr. Mohamed has grown into her role as Managing Dentist, building a strong clinical team in York and expanding the complex implant services available to the community. She was drawn to dentistry because it brings together science, precision, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, and she still finds her greatest reward in seeing a patient leave with renewed confidence in their smile. Outside the practice, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring new cultures, and trying new foods.
