I spent years hiding my smile—even from my own kids. I grew up without dental care, got made fun of for my yellow teeth, and carried that shame into adulthood. After a bad experience with another dentist, I avoided going back and lived with pain and embarrassment for years. Walking into Dr. Wulf’s office was one of the hardest things I’ve done. The day of my extractions and immediate dentures, I completely broke down. I was overwhelmed, scared, and emotional. But instead of rushing me out like just another patient, the staff stayed with me, comforted me, and treated me like I actually mattered. That moment meant everything to me. I don’t have my final smile yet, but for the first time in my life, I feel hopeful. I’m finally going to be able to smile in pictures with my kids—and not feel ashamed. Most of the people I interacted with were fabulous. I will say that as I sat in the waiting room, I (and lots of other people) could hear a conversation the receptionist had with a client. When she hung up the phone, she mocked the patient and their concern to another employee, and rolled her eyes. That gave me pause. The only criticism I have, at all, is that because of the pace of the office and the quantity of patients, it feels a little like a cattle chute. Not enough time is taken to really explain the process. It feels like they don't take into consideration that you don't know the lingo. Saying all of that....Dr. Wulf is kind and very skilled. His employees, for the most part, are kind, skilled, and make a huge difference in so many people's lives. I never felt judged or looked down on. That's why what that one employee said threw me a bit....I wonder what they say when patients are not around?
