Dr. Jim Curlin, DDS, is a dentist at Affordable Dentures & Implants, Fort Smith. With over 42 years of experience, Dr. Curlin approaches dentistry the way an artist approaches sculpture: with precision, patience, and a deep appreciation for the craft. Dr. Curlin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences College of Dentistry in Memphis, graduating with honors in 1984. He completed UT Mini-Residencies in Implants and Periodontal Surgery, and has pursued continuous advanced training throughout his career, including certification in endosteal implants and guided tissue regeneration, the All-On-Four procedure, maxillary sinus lifts with bone grafts, mini-implants, and oral sedation. He has placed dental implants across virtually every clinical scenario using 8 to 10 different systems over nearly four decades.

A Lifetime Member of the American Dental Association and a former member of the American Orthodontic Society, Dr. Curlin has also served on the Arkansas Forensics Identification Team. Before joining the Fort Smith team in 2013, he ran Ozark Dental Services in Ozark, AR for 36 years, where he built a reputation as a skilled clinician and mentor to younger dentists.

Outside the office, Dr. Curlin is an artist, musician, and devoted family man. He paints in oil and watercolor, plays trumpet and piano, and sings bass in his church choir. He and his wife Carol, married 50 years, have four children and six grandchildren. He is an ordained Baptist minister who has served on dental and evangelistic missions in Guatemala and Italy, and he finds the same calling in his dental work: caring for people, restoring beauty, and making a real difference.
