Making a difference on Veterans Day

Giving back in the communities where we live and work is a big part of who we are at Affordable Dentures & Implants. Recently, our teams helped deliver the gift of a smile -- free dental care – on Veterans Day to very deserving Veterans, as our way of saying thank you for their service. Below we highlight stories from across our network on Veterans Day.

A man's new smile is reflected in a hand mirror.

U.S. Army Veteran Bruce Allred, of San Angelo, Texas, went into the service to become a mechanic and ended up training for and becoming a U.S. Army Ranger. He served off an aircraft carrier in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, helping to evacuate troops near the end of the Vietnam War. “We saved a lot of lives during those trips but there are a bunch of names on that big black wall who I know,” shares Bruce, as he references the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Like all Military Veterans, in order to qualify for full VA dental benefits, Bruce must be 100 percent disabled, have been a prisoner of war or have developed a dental condition during service. Bruce does not meet these requirements.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2020 the official U.S. observance of Veterans Day, Dr. Alan Rodriguez, from Affordable Dentures & Implants in San Angelo, Texas, was on a mission to bring a much-deserved smile to Bruce’s life through the gift of free dental care.
